Sarajevska pivara, licensed manufacturer of Oettinger for the region

Sarajevo, February 15th 2016 – At the press conference held on the occasion of the start of production of the Oettinger beer, one of the most famous German brewery brands, Mujo Selimovic, member of the Supervisory Board of the Sarajevska pivara d.d./JSC (Sarajevo Brewery), said that this was one of the important activities undertaken by the Sarajevska pivara in the course of the last year.

“Around the middle of the last year, we returned to the old flavor of the Sarajevsko and changed the design and brand name. The consumer reaction was excellent and we recorded an increase in production by 30 percent. We had huge financial investments in the development of the production facilities and training of employees, which led to performance of the most advanced processes and standards, as well as in meeting the most demanding criteria for obtaining a license. I believe that this is a great success of the employees of the Sarajevska pivara and is yet another proof that that we produce beer according to the highest European quality standards”, said Selimović.

Dr. Karl Liebl, director of the Oettinger Brauerei GmbH, said that the company tended to choose its partners carefully. “We cooperate with the breweries that share the same values, breweries that are not only interested in producing any beer, but also pay great attention to the quality of their products. We are really delighted that we have found such a partner in the Sarajevska pivara. I am very satisfied with the quality of the Oettinger Pils that was produced in the Sarajevska pivara and I look forward to this long and firm Bosnian-German partnership in the Balkans”, said Dr. Karl Liebl.

The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to B&H, Christian Hellbach, said that it was good news for BiH that the beer to be sold in the region was produced in Sarajevo. “This is proof that there are some good companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and I believe that this cooperation will be successful and will be further developed”, added Ambassador Hellbach.

The Oettinger is one of the largest export breweries in Germany, and its beer is sold in more than 100 countries. The Oettinger Pils produced in the Sarajevska pivara is currently available on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina in non-return bottles of 0.33 l, and deposit bottles of 0.33 l and 0.5 l.
