Sarajevska pivara on its way to the efficient use of resources and cleaner production
Sarajevo, February 9th 2016 – Sarajevska pivara dd/JSC is one of the ten companies in our country participating in the “National Cleaner Production Programme (NCPP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The Project goals include the improvement of the efficient use of natural resources as well as the improvement of environmental results of the companies in our country. The production plant of the Sarajevska pivara was visited by local experts and members of the International Consortium that made the first analysis of the production process of the Sarajevska pivara.
“We, at the Sarajevska pivara, are constantly working to save resources and energy, and to improve the measures that lead to cleaner production. The participation itself in this project is really important for us, because we will, in cooperation with local experts, make a detailed analysis of the production process, and implement the measures that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions, more efficiently use the natural resources, improve the well-being of employees and local communities, and increase the productivity”, said Ernin Ališić, executive director of the Sarajevska pivara dd/JSC for production, quality control, maintenance and energy.
The Project is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) with the financial support of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, and its implementation was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This Project will contribute to sustainable industrial development in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and increase the employment and income through the implementation of practices and policies of the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP).
