Sarajevo Brewery was founded in 1864 and is considered the first industrial production facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Corporate activites

Sarajevo Brewery Inc. is the first industrial facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the symbols of the city of Sarajevo, with a centuries-long tradition of brewing beer. We believe it is our duty and responsibility to preserve this tradition and to place our products on the demanding European and global markets.

The mission of Sarajevo Brewery Inc. is to improve quality of life. We offer consumers a wide range of high-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, create long-term value growth, and provide employees with a creative and pleasant working environment. The company operates in a socially responsible and sustainable manner, reducing negative impacts on the environment nature and surroundings. A responsible approach toward all stakeholders in our operations customers, suppliers, business partners, and the wider community is the foundation of our business.

Product quality and production.
With many years of experience and tradition, we use the finest raw materials and the most modern technology in our production. We are firmly committed to quality, product health compliance and safety, and we manage the environment responsibly.

Sarajevo Brewery Inc. is certified in accordance with the following standards:
-ISO 9001:2008 – Quality Management System.
-ISO 14001:2004 – Environmental Management System.
-HACCP – Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.

Our employees are trained for the production and distribution of our products and successfully apply quality systems. We also operate in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, directives, guidelines, and standards in force at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina that relate to the quality and safety of our products. Employees receive training to perform their duties competently, as well as in the areas of food hygiene, quality management systems, and the HACCP system.
Responsible environmental management.
We are aware of the importance of aligning all human activities with nature, and through preventive action we strive to achieve optimal use of natural resources and to prevent pollution of land, air, and water, as well as threats to the health of people, plants, and animals. Through planned training programs, we build and strengthen employees’ environmental awareness within the organization. Through responsible actions, we also seek to raise consumer awareness of the importance of environmental protection.
Corporate responsibility.
Sarajevo Brewery Inc. employs 370 people and is a significant economic entity that contributes to public budgets through the payment of taxes and social contributions on various grounds. We strive to support vulnerable groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we donate to numerous institutions such as public kitchens, homes for children without parental care, institutions that care for the elderly, and many others.
Responsible consumption and communication.
We believe that any alcohol consumption must be accompanied by personal responsibility, and we support—through various initiatives—efforts to raise awareness about responsible drinking. We support all activities that promote a ban on alcohol consumption by minors. Alcoholic beverages are products for which marketing and sales activities must be carried out with great responsibility. In our operations, we apply the principles of responsible advertising and sponsorship, and we have internal policies in place governing this area.
